Oxfam Bangladesh Job Circular 2017: Oxfam Bangladesh has published a job circular for the post of ‘Accounts Officer’ on April 19th, 2017. - Job Context: The responsibles will report to Sr. Finance Officer & work with the other team members.
- Position: Accounts Officer.

- Employment Type: Contractual/ Temporary Fixed Term (6 months).
- Education Qualification: Minimum MBA/ M.COM in any discipline from any reputed Public/ Private University.

- Gender: Both Male and Female.
- Experience Requirement: Minimum 3 years working experience in offering a whole range of financial services to any organisation (ideally with minimum 2 years in International NGO).
- Job Location: Dhaka.
- Compensation and Benefit: As Per Company Policy.
Salary Range: BDT 7,27,205.00 (13 months) per annum gross with other benefits, like- contributory Provident fund, leave etc.!!!
- Cash fund Management (40% time)
♣ Reviewing and checking the bills/invoices and preparing the cash voucher.
♣ Checking and ensuring the proper accounting code.
♣ Maintaining and updating the float register.
♣ Posting into the cash book and the PeopleSoft template with the necessary journal entries.
♣ Reconciling the Daily cash in a timely fashion.
♣ Liaison with the Bank and financial institute, money exchangers to fulfill the program cash requirements.
- Support to Treasury Finance (20% time)
♠ Checking bills/invoices for the online payment including the voucher preparation.
♠ Assisting the Sr. Finance Officer for Top Up and forecasting ledger preparation.
♠ Backing up to treasury finance in the absence of Sr. Finance Officer.
♠ Preparing Tax and VAT challan and depositing to Govt. Treasury in time.
- Documentation (20% time)
♦ Ensuring that all the cash and online payment voucher are stamps paid.
♦ Ensuring that VAT and TAX challan are in place in project wise.
♦ Ensuring all the financial documents are in good condition and keeping in secure place.
♦ Dealing VAT and TAX affairs related to the external parties.
♦ Preparing Income TAX Certificate for all the staff members with Challan (TAX Document) and providing
- PF Administration (10% time)
♥ Maintaining accounts of the staff provident fund.
♥ Identifying, analyzing the profitable investment opportunity for the PF fund with ensuring the regulatory
♥ Ensuring the PF statement to the staffs on a yearly basis.
♥ Ensuring PF audit and final accounts.
- One program Approach (10% time)
Φ Visiting the Partner Organizations as part of monitoring and providing coaching and producing visit report.
Φ Involving in the assessment of finance functions in the PNGOs for Oxfam partners.
Φ Acting as a back-up in case of any staff gaps at the country finance team.
Φ Assisting other Sr. Finance Officers for any kind of project or organisational audit requirement.
Φ Performing other duties as agreed with the BSD, FM & Country Director within the skill, competence & capability.
⊕ Having the ability to understand & implement the government tax & vat laws.
⊕ Proven knowledge of the computerized systems and the demonstrable experience of working with
the computerized accounting packages & spreadsheets.
⊕ Having the Self-management skills, including the ability to prioritize own workload, the ability to work independently and having the commitment to meet the deadlines.
⊕ Should demonstrate experience of integrating the gender and diversity.
⊗ Having the Analytical and Planning skill.
⊗ Should be Adaptable and Flexible.
⊗ Having the ability to manage the own time under guidance & the direction from supervisor and meeting the deadlines.
⊗ Having the ability to respond to a wide range of questions relating to the job.
⊗ Adequate oral & written communication skill.
